§ 13.12.240. Connection of building sewer to public sewer.

  • A.

    The connection of the building sewer service into the public sewer shall be made using the provided factory tap.

    B.

    Where the public sewer has no properly located factory tap available, a neat hole may be cut into time public sewer to receive the building sewer service as located by the sewer department, with entry into time downstream direction at an angle of about forty-five (45) degrees. This hole must be cut in by sewer department employees.

    C.

    The invert of the building sewer service at the point of connection shall be in the top half elevation of time public sewer.

    D.

    A smooth neat joint shall be made, and the connection made secure and watertight by encasement in concrete when required by the director of public works.

    E.

    Special fittings may be used for the connection when approved by the director of public works.
