§ 9.08.040. Giving assistance to police officers.

  • Any police officer of the city is empowered to call to his/her aid in the suppression of a riot or other tumultuous and unlawful assembly, or when necessary to effect the arrest of any person who has committed an offense in the presence of an officer or for whose arrest such officer holds a warrant issued by a court of competent jurisdiction, any number of citizens over the age of eighteen (18) years, that such police officer may deem necessary, and it is unlawful for any such person when called upon for such assistance to neglect or refuse to render the same.
