§ 9.20.100. Removal of snow and ice.

  • A.

    Every person, firm or corporation that is the owner, occupant or has charge of any premises within the limits of this city is required to keep the sidewalks in front of or adjoining or abutting upon such premises, clear of snow, ice, slush, mud or other debris that will in any way interfere with foot travel upon such sidewalks.

    B.

    All such sidewalks must be cleared without undue delay, but not later than nine a.m. of any day after an accumulation of snow, ice, slush, mud or other debris.

    C.

    The owner or occupant or person in charge of such premises, who shall fail to comply with the above requirements, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in any sum not less than ten dollars ($10.00), and not more than twenty-five dollars ($25.00), and each day such violation continues, shall be deemed a separate offense; provided however, the city may have the same cleared of such snow, ice, slush, mud or other debris, and charge the cost of the same to the owner of such premises.
